State Marching Championships Oct 20-21

Our schedule for the Missouri State Marching Championships Friday, October 20 through Saturday, October 21 is as follows:



Friday

7:00 a.m. – Report to the field for normal rehearsal then load, and drop off bags

(bag inspection will be done during school)

1:30 p.m. – Dismissed from class to get on the bus.

2:00p.m. – Depart the high school

5:30 p.m. – Arrive at the Comfort Inn, unload luggage into rooms

6:30 p.m. – Dinner in the conference room

7:30 p.m. – Downtime at the hotel (there is a pool, as well as other people staying there)

10:00 p.m. – Students report to their rooms for inspection

10:30 p.m. – Lights Out



Saturday

7:30 a.m. – Wake up, get ready, and eat breakfast (provided at the hotel)

9:30 a.m. – Check-out and load the bus

9:45 a.m. – Depart hotel

11:00 a.m. – Arrive at Battle High School, check-in, unload, and get into uniform

12:45 p.m. – Band Warm-up

1:20 p.m. – Band report to gate

1:30 p.m. – WILDCAT PRIDE MARCHING BAND PERFORMANCE!

4:45 p.m. – Awards presentation

(depending on whether we make finals, and our finals placement, we will decide when we will eat dinner)

6:30-9:00 p.m. – FINALS PERFORMANCES

9:15 p.m. – Finals Awards presentation (full retreat)

10:00 p.m. 'ish' – Depart

2:00 a.m. 'ish' – Return to Neosho


The hotel we are staying at Friday night is the Comfort Suites, 3600 West Broadway, Sedalia, MO, (660) 829-5050. Chaperones and teachers will be on site. Rooms will be checked and doors will be taped by lights out.



The performance is at Battle High School– 7575 E St. Charles Rd., Columbia, MO. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for non-performing students.



What you need to bring: your uniform, gloves, shoes, black socks, black athletic shorts, your band shirt, your instrument, mallets, sticks, reeds, flags, rifles, money for concessions/meals/etc., clothes to change into, an overnight bag, extra pillows and blankets if you prefer for sleep, swimsuit if you intend to swim in the time available at the hotel to do so, etc. Bring something to snack on if you will get hungry during the ride there or back. The boosters will also provide a snack bag for this trip.


Breakfast Saturday will be provided by the hotel. Dinner Friday will be Papa John’s pizza, and dinner Saturday will be Chick-Fil-A sandwiches all provided. Students will need money for lunch on Saturday which would be concessions at the stadium.


Be courteous to other groups and to each other over this two-day event! Remember, you are representing the band, music department, the school, and all of Neosho! Please conduct yourselves accordingly!
