OSU Jazz Contest

2025 Oklahoma State University Jazz Festival Itinerary March 31st 

Everyone

10:00 AM  -  Load the bus (help Rhythm Section)

10:15 AM -  Depart Neosho HS 

12:15 PM -  Fast food lunch (will need money)

1:15 PM -  Depart for OSU

2:15 PM -  Arrive at OSU / unload / check-in

Jazz Combo 

3:00 PM -  Warmup Room 417

3:30 PM  -  Perform Starlight Terrace 4th Floor

Studio Band

3:30 PM -  Warmup Room 417

4:00 PM  -  Perform Starlight Terrace 4th Floor

Stage Band 

4:00 PM -  Warmup Room 417

4:30 PM  -  Perform Starlight Terrace 4th Floor

Everyone

5:00 PM -  Dinner/Meal Break

7:30 PM -  Awards & concert in McKnight Center for the Performing Arts

9:45 PM -  Depart OSU

12:45 AM -  Arrive in Neosho

Dress: ALL BLACK DRESS CLOTHES - No jeans, no tennis shoes, no tee shirts, no sequins/bow ties/bolo ties etc.

Venue: Our performance will be at the Oklahoma State University student union in the Starlight Terrace on the 4th floor.  Our warmup room is 417, and instrument storage is 413.  The evening concert will be held at the McKnight Center for the Performing Arts.

Lunch & Dinner:

Students will need money for a fast food lunch, as well as for dinner.  There should be more options for dinner.  Students may want to bring snacks for the bus ride there and back.

Etiquette: Please be good ambassadors for the Neosho Band Program. Be humble, complimentary of others, and please… no phones out during performances or clinics! Please DO cheer and clap for things you like in performances. Jazz is about community and having a good time. Be very receptive during the clinics!

Equipment:  Double check that you have your music, instrument, mouthpiece, reeds/accessories, cords, etc. NO EXCUSES!!!

Rhythm Section: Bring everything except vibes & congas. YES, bring our keyboard.  Check on all gear before leaving Neosho and OSU.

* No equipment is supplied in the warm up rooms.

Parent Check-Out: Parents must sign you out in person with a director if you are not returning to Neosho on the bus!
