BOA Des Moines


Our second competition of the season is coming up! Our schedule for the BOA Des Moines Regional Friday, September 27 through Sunday, September 29 is as follows:


Friday

7:00 a.m. – Standard morning rehearsal, drop overnight bags for bag inspection, then attend school

11:17am - Students eat 1st lunch then report to the band room to load

12:15 p.m. – Depart high school

2:30 - 2:45 p.m.’ish’ – Stop for restroom break

5:15 - 5:30 p.m.’ish’ – Stop for restroom break

6:45 p.m. – Arrive at Iowa Machine Shed (Dinner Provided)

8:15 p.m. – Depart Iowa Machine Shed

8:45 p.m. – Arrive at Days Inn (check-in and downtime)

10:00 p.m. – Students report to their rooms for inspection

10:30 p.m. – Lights Out


Saturday

6:00 a.m. – Wake up, get ready, and eat a light breakfast (provided at the hotel)

7:15 a.m. – Load the bus

7:30 a.m. – Depart hotel

8:00 a.m. – Arrive at Northwest High School, check-in, unload, and get into uniform

8:55 a.m. - 9:40 a.m. – Band Warm-up (different schedules for different sections TBA)

9:50 a.m. – Band report to gate

10:00 a.m. – WILDCAT PRIDE MARCHING BAND PERFORMANCE!

10:30 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. – Pictures, load, then return to the stadium as a group and watch bands perform.

Consider eating concessions when watching bands during this time as well

4:30 p.m. – Awards presentation

(depending on whether we make finals, & finals performance time; we will decide when we will eat dinner)

7:30-10:30 p.m. – FINALS PERFORMANCES

10:45 p.m.’ish’ – Finals Awards presentation


We will send text alerts on when we will return.  If we do not make finals, then we will eat dinner (provided) and then depart back to the hotel.  If we do make finals then we will depart shortly after the awards presentation.  Could be back to the hotel as early as 6pm, or as late as 12:30am.


Sunday

7:00 a.m. – Wake up, get ready, clean rooms, and eat a light breakfast (provided at the hotel)

8:30 a.m. – Load the bus

8:45 a.m. – Depart hotel

11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. – Rest room & lunch stop

3:30 p.m. – Arrive in Neosho, unload, and head home


The hotel we are staying at Friday and Saturday night is the Days Inn, 1600 NW 114th St., Clive, IA (515) 337-0273. Chaperones and teachers will be on site. Rooms will be checked and doors will be taped by lights out.


The performance is at the Northwest High School Waukee Sports Complex; 655 NW N 10th St, Waukee, IA. The box office at the stadium will open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. What you need to bring: your uniform, gloves, shoes, black socks, black athletic shorts, your band shirt, your instrument, mallets, sticks, reeds, flags, rifles, money for concessions/meals/etc., clothes to change into, an overnight bag, extra pillows and blankets if you prefer for sleep. Bring something to snack on if you will get hungry during the ride there or back.  The boosters will also provide a snack bag for this trip.


Breakfast Saturday & Sunday, and dinner Friday and Saturday will be provided. Students will need money for lunch both Saturday and lunch Sunday. Saturday will be at the stadium, Sunday will be a fast food stop. 


Be courteous to other groups and to each other over this three-day event! Remember, you are representing the band, music department, the school, and all of Neosho! Please conduct yourselves accordingly!
