KC Championships

Our first competition is upon us and will be at the KC Championships on Saturday, September 22nd! The schedule is as follows:

7:15 a.m. – Arrive at the high school, Load the buses and trailers

7:45 a.m. – Depart to Blue Springs, MO (long trip, you may want to bring snacks)

10:45 a.m. – Arrive in Blue Springs, check-in, unload, and immediately get into uniform

11:25 a.m. – Warm-Up/Tune

12:05 p.m. – Move to staging area

12:30 p.m. – WILDCAT PRIDE PRELIM PERFORMANCE!!!

(after our performance we will head back to the bus, get out of uniform, and return to the stadium to watch bands. Students should get lunch on their own at the concession stand during this time)

2:40 p.m. – Awards presentation (top fourteen bands will move on to finals)

(depending on if we make finals as well as our placement, the schedule may fluctuate)

3:00-4:30 – Judges Critique with Staff and Directors

4:30 p.m. ‘ish’ – Meal provided to students (Could be later depending on evening schedule)

5:30-9:15 p.m. – FINALS PERFORMANCES

9:30 p.m. – Finals awards.

10:00 p.m. – Load buses and trailers

11:30 p.m.’ish’ – Depart

2:15 a.m.’ish’ – Arrive in Neosho. Unload bus, and trailer.

What you need to bring: your band shirt, black athletic shorts, black socks, your instrument, mallets, sticks, reeds, flags, rifles, sabres, marching shoes, gloves, and any money you may want for concessions. Also, you may want a change of clothes/jacket for watching bands during the evening.

If we do not make finals then we will depart after dinner. Dinner will be chicken sandwiches from Chick-Fil-A, chips, and a drink. We are looking for cookies, fruit, pop, and water to be donated for that event. Concessions will also be available for students to get lunch on their own. With this being a longer trip, students may also want to bring snacks for the bus.

This performance will be held at Blue Springs South High School – 1200 SE Adams Dairy Pkwy, Blue Springs, MO. Admission to the competition is $10 for adults and $5 for children 6-12 (5 and under are free). A ‘small fee’ will allow access to a webcast of the entire competition as well as on demand available at www.jaguarpride.com.

Be courteous to other groups and to each other! Remember, you are representing the band, music department, the school, and all of Neosho! Please conduct yourselves accordingly!
